Mike had a great time telling stories about the good old days when the lake was higher. He pointed out all the spots that he used to fish in, now dry and covered with bushes. We drove around, checking out all his old haunts. 

 


This is one of my favorite pictures from our trip to Caballo this weekend. I love to watch Mike fish. We used to go fishing together, before we had kids. Back then, we spent more time in the sleeping bags than we did catching fish! :-) Of course, now it is fun to see him with the kids and watch them learn from him. Some of the best memories I have of my own dad are fishing with him at the lakes of southern Colorado. I hope our kids remember these little trips just as fondly.
